Vintage Design
Extraordinary antique bridal cupboard made of pine dating from 1785. This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted with wood and marble motifs. The marbled panels on the doors in particular are extremely decorative. This copy has been restored at some point and is still in very good condition considering its age with minimal signs of wear. Occasionally some woodworm traces can be observed, which have of course been checked and treated. The cupboard has a well-functioning lock with key and has the original layout on the inside, consisting of a shelf and coat hooks. You can easily add more shelves if desired. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This specimen comes from southern Germany (Badisches Frankenland). 185cm high, 126cm wide, 47cm deep.
