For sale is a lovely set of two iconic Vitra 671 Lounge Chairs, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956. The Eames’ wanted to create a spacious armchair that combines ergonomics — the chair should fit like a baseball glove — with high-quality materials and craftsmanship. It took several years to develop this perfect lounge chair; which instantly became the modern take on the traditional English club chair.
These two Eames Lounge Chairs, manufactured by Vitra in 1999, consists of a chrome (!) swivel base, a pressed plywood with an American Cherry veneer and seat and back cushions covered with quality leather. Both Lounge Chairs are evenly used with wear consistent of age and use, and retain their manufacturer’s stamps and stickers. Black Leather is still clean and fresh, with just the right amount of patina.
