Early Florence Knoll (Florence Knoll Bassett) designed Model 31 lounge chair, circa 1958-62. She designed the chair in 1954 and it was in production until 1968. Black enameled steel frame with upholstered back and seat. Excellence in its simplicity and design. All glides are intact. Good overall condition. The faux cat print upholstery was a later addition with some minor areas of wear. The metal frame has some minor enamel losses. The glides show minor signs of light pitting and rust. Structurally sound and sturdy. Signed on the bottom Cambric with an early Knoll Bow Tie label and a Knoll Products, Inc label. The original upholstery might possibly be under the cat print.
Approximately 24″ deep x 24.5″ wide x 29″ high. The seat height is approximately 17″.
