Iconic Vintage Eero Aarnio Red Tomato Chair, Space aGE / Post Modernist.. Not exactly certain of exact age but I just recently purchased the chair back from a long time client who originally purchased from me in the early 1980’s.. This can very well be a 1970s iteration? Unfortunately no label or marks,,In any event true classic ,, Art / sculpture,, When looking at the Tomato Chair from different angles it is more than a chair, it is a sculpture. delivery avail to New York City or anywhere en route from Buffalo NY
Eero has always been drawn to the circular form and is perhaps best known for his designs ‘without edges’. The Tomato chair combines three circles on a basic seat, with two as armrests, one stretched to be a comfortable back. It is made of fibreglass which makes it suitable for outdoor use as well. Tomato was designed in 1971 by Eero Aarnio.
