Vintage Red and blue chair by Dutch designer Gerrit Rietveld. Published since 1973 by the Italian publisher Cassina.
Stamped on the frame with the publisher’s mark and the serial number, also present in the certificate of authenticity.
Gerrit Rietveld designed it in 1918. This armchair is part of the Dutch De Stijl movement, a rigorous abstraction of lines and colours.
Functional and rational design. The Red and blue chair has been a design icon for over 100 years.
The frame is in black-stained solid beech, with yellow lacquered ends.
The seat and backrest are made of birch multiplex, lacquered in hard-wearing red and yellow polyester.
