This rare and elegant rosewood coffee table with a floating tabletop (model 622\/40) was designed by the Danish designer Grete Jalk for France & Søn \/ France & Daverkosen in the 1960s. This coffee table has a stunning rosewood grain throughout the piece. Recently imported from Denmark, this piece is in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.<\/p>\n

Grete Jalk (1920–2006) was a Danish furniture designer celebrated for her modernist contributions to Scandinavian design during the mid-20th century. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, she studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1946. Jalk’s career was marked by her collaboration with several prominent Danish furniture manufacturers, including Poul Jeppesen and Fritz Hansen.<\/p>\n

Throughout her career, Jalk’s work received critical acclaim and garnered numerous awards, including the prestigious Danish Design Award. Her designs remain highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern furniture.
