Vintage Design
Some splendid stools made in Italy and coming from a rural area of the Abruzzo region. Dating back to around the middle of the 20th century, these vintage stools are made of solid turned ash wood and a hand-woven straw seat. These stools are solid and stable and have a splendid patina. Subjected to a deep cleaning and the application of a protective wax, they have not undergone more invasive restoration interventions as we believe that their charm lies precisely in the signs of time and use visible on the wooden surface. If you look carefully at these chairs, an iconic seat of Italian design called “Carimate” will come to mind, the reason for this similarity is because the designer Vico Magistretti used to pay homage to the design of the past, both by authors and not, revisiting iconic furnishings in a modern key, enhancing some formal or technical characteristics. The “Carimate” chair is in fact a reinterpretation of the classic Italian popular seat in solid wood with a wicker seat, a model of rationality and devoid of any superfluous decoration, it is characterized by slender legs that thicken only at the crosspieces to give greater stability and resistance. The three stools are sold separately, and the price refers to a single quantity.
