Vintage Chrome Sailboat Bookends With Mirrored Trinket Dish Base

It’s my guess that these bookends are from the 1930s-1940s. They are shiny silver in color but appear to possibly be cast metal of some sort with chrome coating. The sailboats are on a silver mirror tray base which would be perfect for holding small trinkets/keys or jewelry,
These solid and heavy bookends are in shabby vintage condition. The bookends are obviously quite old and signs of age and use to both pieces include a broken tip of mast on one, bending and cracking of chrome coat on mainsail as well as scuffs and scratches overall. The mirrored dish/trays have an antique look due to oxidation and age spots from the silver backing. With all that bring said, I think the well-worn/shabby look is the appeal of this set. Perfectly, Imperfect. Adding vintage charm, while telling a story in any space.
